Custom cabinets in Newport Beach
Bayfront cottages on Balboa Island, flower-street rebuilds in Corona del Mar and hillside estates in Newport Coast all share one thing, salt air. We design and build cabinetry for each of them.

One city, three very different kinds of house
Newport Beach is really several places sharing a harbor, and each one sets a different brief for cabinetry.
The islands and the Peninsula. Balboa Island, Lido Isle and the Balboa Peninsula are built on small, tightly packed lots, many around 30 feet wide on Lido. Homes go up rather than out, so kitchens are long and narrow, stairs eat floor area, and every inch of wall counts. Custom work here is about fitting a lot of storage into a slim plan: full-height pantry walls, drawers sized to the run, bench seating with storage under it and bunk rooms for visiting family.
Corona del Mar. CdM mixes 1940s and 1950s beach cottages in the flower streets with the modern houses that have replaced many of them, plus bluff-top homes in neighborhoods like Shore Cliffs. Teardown and rebuild is common, which means cabinetry is often planned from an architect’s set rather than measured into an old room. Lots are tight, so built-ins and furniture-style pieces often do the work a bigger house would give to extra rooms.
Newport Coast. Annexed into the city in the early 2000s, Newport Coast climbs the San Joaquin Hills above Crystal Cove State Park. Its gated enclaves, including Pelican Crest, Pelican Hill and Crystal Cove, hold the city’s largest custom homes. Here the cabinetry is part of the architecture: long kitchen elevations with paneled refrigeration, scullery or catering kitchens, bars for entertaining and dressing rooms that run the length of the suite.
Salt air is the real spec
Whether a house sits on the sand at the Wedge or high above the coast, the ocean reaches it. The marine layer keeps humidity up for much of the year, and salt carried on the breeze settles on every metal surface. That changes how we build:
- Every face is finished. Backs, edges and the insides of doors are sealed, not only the visible fronts, so damp air can’t get into raw wood or composite.
- Hardware that resists corrosion. Pulls, hinges and slides are chosen with coastal exposure in mind. Raw brass and lightly plated finishes dull fastest near the water.
- Stable cores for big doors. Tall pantry and appliance panels are built on veneered cores so they stay flat through wet winters and dry Santa Ana weeks.
- Low-emission panels. California regulates formaldehyde in composite wood (CARB Phase 2 / TSCA Title VI), and documentation is worth asking any supplier for.
Working with the harbor’s logistics
Island streets are narrow and parking is scarce, and gated communities set their own contractor hours and access rules. We plan each visit and delivery with your association’s rules and your builder’s schedule in front of us, and we’d rather ask early than block a lane on delivery day.

Can you fit custom cabinets into a narrow Balboa Island or Lido Isle home?
Yes. Many island lots are only about 30 feet wide, so we measure every wall and build to the exact dimensions, often using full-height runs and storage in stairwells and window seats where stock sizes would leave gaps.
Do you cover Corona del Mar?
Yes. Corona del Mar is part of Newport Beach and is covered by this page, from the flower streets near Coast Highway to Shore Cliffs and the neighborhoods above the bluffs.
How do you work inside gated Newport Coast and harbor communities?
Communities such as Pelican Crest, Crystal Cove and Linda Isle control access through a gate or association. Add us to your access list for each visit, and tell us your association's contractor hours and parking rules so we can plan around them.
What holds up best on a bayfront or oceanfront home?
Fully sealed finishes on every face of the cabinet, hinges and slides with corrosion-resistant finishes, and moisture-resistant cores for sink bases and baths. Salt air shortens the life of exposed hardware, so it matters most within a few blocks of the water.
Can you work from my architect's drawings on a Corona del Mar rebuild?
Yes. We plan cabinetry from the architectural set, coordinate appliance specs and rough-ins, then confirm dimensions with a field measure once the walls are framed.
